Marathon Belting Limited was formed in the UK 1976, to fill a small niche as a woven conveyor belt manufacturer. Since the early days, our market research, development and innovation has taken us into the field of specialised performance textiles for wide-ranging industrial applications.
As a multi-award winning UK-based business, we approach each and every challenge with the utmost commitment and enthusiasm. Our innovation, attention to detail and technological achievements have been recognised on three separate occasions by the Queen’s Award, for Technological Achievement and Export Achievement (twice). At the present time, approximately 85% of our output is exported to over 120 different countries.

During the 40 years we have been working in high performance, precision textiles, we have acquired a breadth of expertise, product knowledge and in-depth appreciation of different yarns and weaving fabric designs. Marathon is well equipped to manufacture a range of textile solutions for different applications and to provide the necessary design and technical support required. We believe we have one of the most diverse ranges of weaving looms currently available in the textiles industry.
This facility gives us the ability to weave from 50 mm to 3000 mm in width, from a single-ply construction, up to 40 mm thick, woven as a nine-ply.
Yarns that we regularly use include cotton, nylon, polyester, Dyneema®, Zylon® (PBO), Kevlar® and glass. We also weave with wires such as brass, copper and stainless steel if a specification dictates that requirement. Given our superbly equipped manufacturing plant, we have complete control and flexibility over the size of our production runs.

From fabric design, yarn processing, weaving technology, through to product fabrication and development, our knowledge, coupled with our in-house manufacturing capacity, means we can create fabrics that are engineered to exacting standards.
